Punk / Indie Trio
Corre Diablo is a Los Angeles/San Diego-based punk/indie trio consisting of guitarist/vocalist Xavaier Delgado, bassist/vocalist Brandon Michel, and drummer Saul Arredondo. After forming in December 2016 as a response to the changing sociopolitical climate in the US, the band believes that speaking up and against oppressive powers is indispensably important. It’s safe to say that Corre Diablo leads by example. The microphone wields power depending on how it’s used. The band uses their platform as a way to tell the stories of injustices and political hardships that wear down the relationships between you and the one’s you love. The song “Mother Tongue” tells a story through an individual being reprimanded for being an immigrant. The struggle of abandoning our human connection for the sake of favoring socioeconomic statuses is a reality so deeply dreaded through Corre Diablo’s music. Empathy is lost. Compassion is forgotten. But Corre Diablo continues to fight. Searching for what has been momentarily lost in a time of political crisis and social distraught.
